Hi and welcome to my weight loss blog. You’re obviously here because you’re looking for some easy secret to losing weight without paying too much of a price. You may want to lose 10 pounds of weight, but are you willing to pay the price for that “loss”. You have to learn about and understand your habits, and then you have to change them. This one sentence is the key. The more you learn about yourself, the greater your ability to change.
Like the rudder of a great ship, with your mind properly set, it’s time to steer your body to a new you.
No matter what type of help you’re seeking regarding ways to lose weight more effectively, basically comes down to a few basic principles:
1. Proper healthy eating and exercise are still the best ways you can lose weight and live a long and healthy life. All great success in life take a certain amount of work. But the payoff is wonderful to behold.
2. Having the right attitude. I don’t really want to get into this right now, but what this means basically is that either you REALLY REALLY want to lose weight OR you don’t. Before you can take action, you must want to first. Learning to control your emotions and thought processes all count here. Start thinking about your bad habits and what you can do about them (more about that in another article).
3. FAIL TO PLAN and you may as well PLAN TO FAIL! Make and follow your own action plan. Let’s face it. We all like to follow a step-by-step plan. It’s just so much easier when it’s written in front of us. Write down in as few words as possible, and in bold letters, what you want to do and stick it on your door and then get onto step 4.
4. TAKE ACTION! Now that you know what you need to do and have the right attitude, follow your plan and carry through with the goals you have set. We’ll get into this more later.
Now for a confession. This is not how I started on my weight loss journey at all. I weighed about 240 pounds and lost about 40 pounds of that because Christmas was bringing a lot of snow, I mean a whole lot of snow. Either I started shoveling or I get buried. Some of the snow banks around my home we’re almost 8 feet high. Those first few times shoveling snow were tough, but it got easier as I went on. I started feeling much better too; all that fresh air kinda helps.
It seemed like all that “forced” exercise started to change my thoughts about my own health. Once I noticed changes in my body, like having to tighten my belt because my pants started to feel too big, I started to fall into some sort of “health phase”. I was feeling great and I wanted more! That was the beginning of my own weight loss journey.
